Small Business Ideas for Prepared Food Delivery
Many people like being able to call to have a prepared dinner delivered. Sometimes, they are tired or just not in the mood to cook. Many times, their delivery choices are limited to pizza, Chinese food or sandwiches. If it is like that in your area, a prepared food delivery service might be just what the neighborhood needs.
- Prepare foods that are not available from other food delivery services in your area, such as comfort foods that you would expect to find at Mom's house. Stay away from sandwiches and pizza; offer roasted chicken with Pilaf, Swedish meatballs over egg noodles, potato salad with pulled pork sandwiches. This is just an idea of some dishes that are not usually available on a take-out menu.
- Fill a need that is not being met where you live. Look around your area for places that are open all night. Facilities like nursing homes and hospitals have workers around the clock. Often, the overnight workers have few choices when it comes time to eat. There may only be vending machines or if they are lucky, a pizza place that is still open. Delivering delicious dinners like you would get at home would probably be very welcome.
- Provide dinner delivery for busy families that still want dinners that taste home cooked. There are some days when there is little time to think about dinner. Fast food on the way home is often the choice on days like that. However, if there were a service that could deliver a nutritious meal for dinner at a reasonable price, many families might turn to that option instead. Perhaps a menu could consist of one or two dinner choices per day that people could call ahead in the morning to order. This would work out well for many.
