Steps to Renting a Trailer for Your Car
It’s time to move or maybe you just need to get some things out of your house or office. Moving a few large items requires a trailer connected to your vehicle. You can rent a trailer, but do you know how? Here are the steps to renting a trailer for your car.
Once you have found a reputable trailer rental company through MerchantCircle or another reliable source, like Google, Yahoo or Ask, contact the rental company directly by phone.
Ask talk to someone to understand the process for renting a trailer for your vehicle. You will want to ask about projected cost factors and how to schedule a trailer rental.
Arrive at the facility at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Make sure that you have plenty of gas in your vehicle before picking up the trailer. You will not want to pull a trailer through a gas station if you are not familiar with driving a trailer connected to your vehicle.
After filling out paperwork, an associate will help you set up your vehicle for the trailer. You will need a ball hitch on the back of your car. The hitch size will depend on the size of the trailer. If you do not have a ball hitch, you can rent or buy one at the rental facility.
You and the associate should make sure that the ball hitch is securely fitted to your vehicle. The trailer will then be placed on the ball hitch and connect to your vehicle’s electrical system.
Make sure that you use extra caution when renting a trailer for your vehicle. Remember that you have extended the length of your vehicle. You will need to make wider turns and have more space in parking areas.
Be sure to return the trailer to the company at the agreed upon time. Additional charges may apply if you are late returning the trailer or if there is any damage to the trailer.
