Storage Tips for Small Kitchens
There are many different ways to create more storage space when dealing with a small kitchen. The most important thing you can do is to remove any clutter or items you no longer use. If you don't want to throw them away, you can move them to another space.
Shelves
One of the best ways to create more storage space is to add shelves. You can attach shelves to walls or to the doors of your cabinets and pantry. You can also add hooks on the walls to hold anything from utensils to pots.
Cabinet Space
One of the best ways to make the most of cabinet space is to store all smaller items inside larger items. You can buy a set of storage containers that will fit into one another.
Rearrange
Try rearranging your kitchen appliances. Simply moving a trash can under the sink and out of the way can make a big difference. If you are holding onto appliances you never use, put them in the attic or a closet until you need to use it. Try placing the microwave or any other appliance on top of the refrigerator. You can also hang appliances underneath cabinets and microwaves.
Extra Storage
You can use a horizontal magnetic strip on the wall to hang knives from. Horizontal rods can be used to hold things such as utensil canisters. Use decorative canisters on your countertop to hold little items or silverware.
Kitchen Island
Creating a kitchen island out of one or two small tables can help free up space on your counters and also gives you an extra surface to work or prepare food on.
