Storage and Moving Resources for Women

Moving is a difficult task for anyone because there is a lot of physical work involved such as moving heavy furniture, appliances and boxes. This can be especially challenging for women because of they often do not have the upper body strength to lift heavy items. However, there are many resources for women that are moving.

Hire Movers

Hiring movers is one of the best ways to make the move smoother for women. You can choose to hire from a moving company or enlist some of your male family members to help you move. Depending on where you are moving and how much you have to move determines the price of the move, if you plan to hire movers.

If you need to hire movers, go to a search engine such and type in your keywords. For instance, if you are moving from one apartment to the next, type in “Apartment movers (your zip code)” which brings up a list of moving companies. If you are moving from one home to another, then type in “Home movers (your zip code.)” Get a list of items you need to have moved and call a few of the moving companies to compare prices. It is important to make sure this list is accurate because if the movers come on the day of the move and you have more items, they will charge you a higher fee to move the extra items or boxes.

Rent a Storage Unit or Pod

There are times that you may need to store items while moving. One of the ways to do so is to use a storage company that brings a pod to your door and allows you to fill it up. When you finish the company will move it to the new location, which eliminates having to rent a moving truck. In addition, you are normally given more time to unload the pod or you can pay for a few extra days so that you can unload it slower.
