The Best Exterior Paint Colors

When it comes to painting the exterior of your home, the best color of paint to use is a personal preference but there are certain colors that work better in certain climates. Some colors will work better as the main color of the home while others make better trim colors.

Paint Color Considerations

When you paint the outside of your home, the choice of color will usually come down to what color you like the best but there are other things to consider. For instance, where you live could come into consideration or if you are getting prepared to sell the home, this could be a consideration. For instance, if you live in hot areas of the country light colors will reflect the sun keeping your home cooler. Cold climates should use darker colors, to soak up the suns warmth. If you are selling your home, the exterior color can make a world of difference in how fast it sells and how much you get out of the home.

Choosing a Paint Color

The biggest problem with choosing a paint color is the fact that there are so many brands and so many colors available. If there are not enough colors on the market, you can have paint at a paint store custom mixed to any color you like. So if you do not see a color that you like on the shelf, just have the attendant whip up a batch of the color you want. They can literally match any color in the world; all you need is a little bit of the color you want for them to test.
