Themes for Birthday Parties for Kids

For some children, their birthday party is the highlight of their year and is eagerly anticipated. To make a child's birthday party an especially memorable occasion a parent can choose to base it on a theme. Fortunately there are a wide variety of themes available to use as a birthday party idea.

Video Games

Cartoons

Equally as popular as video game themes are cartoon themes. Dragonball Z is particularly popular with boys and Disney themes are popular with girls. For Dragonball Z parties you can do things like have them pin the tail on a cardboard version of a dragon, or pin the black belt on a carboard version of Goku. You can also have an Easter-style egg hunt for seven eggs, with the eggs colored orange and numbered from one to seven. For Disney-themed birthday parties you can have girls dress up like princesses or design their own tiaras to show off.

Other Party Ideas

Popular themes for both genders include carnival parties. These parties involve lots of cotton candy, and the adults can dress up as clowns. Another theme idea is the safari theme with animal costumes and a night full of children-oriented nature shows.
