Tips for Honeymoon Clothing Shopping
One of the most exciting parts of having a wedding and getting married is being able to enjoy a relaxing, romantic honeymoon with your new husband or wife. Most people find themselves shopping for a few special outfits to wear on their honeymoon. Look for clothing that is comfortable, fashionable and comfortable to take along on your trip.
- Think about the types of clothing that you will need. If you are staying in a resort or going on a cruise, do some research to find out about the atmosphere. Is the resort or cruise casual, or more formal? Are there certain formal dinners or events that require you to dress up? If you are going on any excursions, such as hiking, boating or horseback riding, make a note of that, too, as you will need to dress appropriately. Aside from the details of your trip, make sure that you pack your very best clothes, as your trip will be photographed. Also, it's your honeymoon - so don't forget the sex appeal.
- Shop in advance. This is especially important if you are getting married in the fall or winter but taking a honeymoon in a tropical location. Begin your shopping the spring before your wedding so that you will have a large selection of summer clothing to choose from. If you wait until October or November to shop, the selection will be limited at best.
- Choose your style based on your destination. If you are spending your honeymoon on an island, go for light, flowy skirts and dresses and lightweight shirts and shorts. These will be classy and romantic, as well as comfortable. If you are traveling to Europe, select classy and simple styles for an elegant look. If you are skiing or spending your honeymoon on a cold mountainside, spring for a sexy snowsuit and cozy sweaters.
- Choose your clothing company wisely. There are certain brands and companies that market specifically to the resort crowd. They will have summer and resort clothing available all year long. Seek out a brand such as this and see what types of clothing they have available.
- If you see something that you love, buy it. Don't wait until your next shopping trip, because the item might not be available when you return. If you find something that you know your fiance would love, buy it for him, as well. It can be a great little gift to give to him on your honeymoon.
