Tips for Setting Up Golf Tee Times
Golf is a wonderful way to spend time with friends or family while maintaining physical fitness. Yet making sure you have the course when you most want it usually means reserving a tee time. Fortunately, getting a tee time scheduled for your friends or family isn’t difficult and setting one up means never wondering if you’ll be able to get on the golf course that day.
Know The Rules:
- The rules governing golf courses or golf clubs are often idiosyncratic and knowing what your particular course or club requires in order to reserve a tee time will always be in your best interest. If you are unsure, either pick up a written copy of the rules, or ask what their requirements are when calling to reserve a tee.
- Usually, you will be required to maintain a minimum of at least two players or a maximum of six. Your maximum player number may vary slightly depending on your particular course or club.
- Knowing how many people you will need before you are permitted to reserve a tee time is important. Fail to bring enough people, and you may find your golf party crashed by a stranger placed in your group by the club in order to fill the space.
Call In Advance:
- It’s a good idea to get your tee reserved as far in advance as your course or club will permit. In some cases, you will only be permitted to reserve a tee a week in advance while others may permit you to forecast your tee time months in the future.
- In general, reserving your tee at least two weeks in advance will permit you enough time to contact your friends or permit those you wish to attend to clear or rearrange their schedules.
- Having at least a week’s advance warning also permits you to find a replacement player should one of your friends suddenly find themselves in the middle of a schedule conflict.
Be Flexible:
- Some people love to golf in the misty coolness of morning whilst still others prefer to work off the stress of their workday with a good round of golf in the afternoon. If you are planning on setting up a tee time for yourself and a group of friends, remain flexible with time allowances.
- When calling in to reserve your tee, ask the receptionist when business on the course is at its slowest and book for that time. Not only are you more likely to get your desired tee time, you are also ensuring that the golf course will not be overrun while you and your friends play.
