Tips for Wearing Cheap Hair Extensions

Wearing hair extensions can be a lot of fun. Most women wear the extensions because they like to change their look. Many like to go from short to long and others may be looking for a fuller look. It is important when wearing extensions to properly care for them and your hair to avoid breakage.

• Wash and clean your hair before applying your extensions. The less you have to worry about your natural hair the longer your extensions will last.


• Decide on what type of hair extensions you will be wearing. If you choose human hair it will usually last longer. Human hair tends to cost a little more than synthetic hair, but you can find it on clearance at many beauty supply stores.


• Make sure your natural hair is straight before you apply your extensions. You will have a longer and neater appearance if this is done first.


• Use longer clip extensions in the back of your hair. You can also use them on the sides if needed.


• Clip in your hair extensions under your natural hair. It should clip near the scalp. You may need to practice putting in and taking out the extensions.


• Comb your natural hair over the extensions. Check for any lumps left in the hair. You will want to straighten these out.


• Take human hair extensions out and wash, comb and care for them as you would your normal hair. Synthetic hair is usually no longer good to wear after wearing it once. It usually becomes tangle and matted down. If your extensions are glued in, you will have to remove the bonding glue and the extensions will not be reusable.
