Tips on Joining an Automobile Association
An automobile association is a car club that allows owners of a particular type of car to come together and enjoy their car model as well as show of their cars and talk with other owners about problems and other issues they have had.
- There are several different types of automobile associations in the country depending on the type of car that you own. Some are specifically for classic cars while others may tailor to hot rods, electric cars, or a specific model such as the corvette. Make sure that your automobile fits in with the rest of the vehicles of the association before you attempt joining.
- Ask around about what associations hold shows, auctions and participate in other functions. Some automobile associations only get together once a month or so to talk about their cars while others participate in community functions and other outings that let them show off their cars and enjoy the company of other similar car owners.
- Some automobile associations require that you pay dues or fees each year to stay in their association. Check into this before signing up as you may end up paying a fee before you can join.
- Read the requirements carefully before joining an automobile association. Some require that you participate in a certain amount of functions while you are part of the association. If you have constraints against your time that could prevent this, then you may want to find a different car club that better suits your needs.
