Tips on Photographing Reception Halls
If you want to photograph receptions halls to showcase them as event venues, you need to make sure the reception halls look as good as they possibly can. In order to do this, you should pay attention to your lighting, photograph from different perspectives, photograph the selling points and photograph the reception hall when it is set up for an event.
- Pay attention to the lighting. Use natural lighting in your photographs if possible. The best time to take advantage of sunlight is in the early morning, so try to schedule your photo-shoot in the morning on a sunny day. If you cannot use natural lighting, bring along some white lights to light the space in a flattering way.
- Take pictures from different perspectives. You should take a variety of shots of the receptions halls. Take some close up details of architectural features, for example. Then, take some wide-angle shots to show the reception hall in its entirety. Make sure to take pictures of both inside and outside of the reception hall.
- Photograph the selling points. If you are photographing reception halls to showcase them as event venues, you need to take pictures of its unique features. If the reception hall has an amazing view, take a picture of it. Or, event space managers have decorated the reception hall in a particular theme, take pictures that show that.
- Make sure the reception hall is set up for an event when you photograph it. If you simply photograph an empty reception hall, the viewer may have a hard time picturing an event there.
