Types of Denim Skirts for Women

Denim skirts come in many different styles and colors.  There is a denim skirt available to suit every style, from conservative to daring.  Denim skirts do not have to cost a lot of money, and can even be created at home from an old pair of denim jeans.

Styles

Denim skirts come in a wide range of styles.  The traditional denim skirt resembles a pair of denim jeans with a front fly, fitted waist, back pockets, belt loops and triangular inserts in the front and back.  These can be created at home by cutting the inseams on a pair of denim jeans, and sewing triangular inserts to the front and back of the skirt.  Different styles of denim skirts include the mini skirt, pencil skirt, trumpet skirt, wrap skirt, long skirt, A-line skirt or slit skirt.  Denim skirts may come with back or side zippers, as well as a column of front buttons.  They may be fitted or have some stretch to them for a better fit.

Colors

Denim skirts come in a variety of colors.  They may come in a very light blue color to a dark blue color.  They may be bleached white or dyed black.  They also come in an assortment of other colors such as pink, purple, green and yellow.

Extras

Denim skirts may have fringe or lace attached to the bottom.  They may have little rhinestone designs on the front or back pockets.  A popular look for teenagers is the ripped or destroyed look.  These skirts may have holes in them, and the bottom of the skirt has a rough, frayed look.  Denim skirts may also have different embroidery designs or patchwork on them for a unique look.
