Types of Flower Garden Stakes

Many flowers cannot stand up without support. Some flower stems are so delicate that they require a stake in the ground that they can lean on for support. Garden stakes come in a large variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, and they are available in many different materials. Some garden stakes help flowers to grow, while others serve as a piece of art to liven up the garden.

Wrought Iron Stakes

Many gardeners require a durable stake that can stand up to the elements and weather. Wrought Iron is a durable and attractive choice that last for many years without fading, breaking or going out of style. Some are sold very long to help hold up larger plants, and so they can be pushed into the ground to hold up the plant.

Artistic Stakes

Some gardeners enjoy placing creative and fun elements in their gardens that express their personal taste.  Artists make and sell stakes made from wood, bamboo, copper or other metal, and even incorporate personalized designs into the stakes.

Decorative Stakes

You can even make your own personalized stakes by purchasing a simple stake at a garden center that has hooks to hang a sign.  Purchase a small wooden plaque from a craft store and paint the names of flowers onto the plaque, and hang the plaque on the stake to showcase particular flowers types in your flower garden.  Some decorative stakes have a weather vein, an LED solar powered light, or a thermometer.

Flower Pot Stakes

Some stakes are long enough to push far into the ground to hold up a decorative light weight planter.  Flower Pot Stakes are available in a variety of heights.  The planter itself can be placed in the garden or on the lawn to add depth and height to any landscape.
