Types of Media Advertising
Advertising is something that companies use to promote their product or service. It is very effective and with the latest technology, images are clearer. Large companies have a larger advertising budget and therefore, they can choose the best ways to advertise. There are several different types of media advertising.
Print Advertising
Advertisement in print includes magazines, newspapers, fliers, and brochures. It has been a source of advertising for many years and still remains effective. This is cheaper for companies to buy a space in a magazine than purchase airtime on television. In addition, smaller companies can place an advertisement in a less known publication, which would cost them much less than a larger publication, but still allow them to advertise.
Broadcast Advertisement
This type of advertising is common in television and trade shows. Most small companies cannot afford this type of advertising and therefore, consumers mostly see larger businesses advertising using television. Commercial airtime will cost much more when a popular show is airing or during prime time. This is a very effective form of advertising a product and it is big business.
Celebrity Advertisement
A celebrity's popularity can often sell a product faster than any other type of advertisement just by claiming they use the product. Of course, companies that use celebrities have to be careful and select those that have a favorable image in the eyes of fans. Choosing the wrong celebrity for advertising could have the exact opposite effect.
Cinema Advertisement
When you pay to see a movie at the cinema, you know you will be bombarded with several advertisements long before your movie ever starts. You're stuck and the advertisements are loud and flashy, but they make a big impact.
