Types of Organizing Toy Bins

Teaching children to keep their toys neat and organized can make life a lot easier for parents. There are a wide variety of toy bins available in many different sizes, colors and styles to make this job easier for both parents and children. Keep the system you use simple enough for the child's age.

Types of Organizing Toy Bins

  • Open plastic storage bins that fit into a storage bin organizer. The bins are plastic and come in a variety of colors. The bin organizer is sized to hold anywhere from four to twelve plastic bins. These are great for small children since they are open. It's a good idea to tape a picture of what goes into each bin on the front so the children know which toys go into each bin.

  • Plastic storage bins with lids are good for older children to store collectibles, and toys with many pieces.

  • Canvas storage bins are good for dolls and stuffed animals. They come in many colors.

  • A cube organizer system uses cube shaped bins with handles for toy storage. The cubes can also be left open with no bin.

  • Toy storage boxes are usually made from plastic or wood and have a lid. Many have characters on them. Children can put all their toys into the box when they are done playing.
