Types of Seamless Gutters

The term seamless gutter refers to a specific installation process of a gutter. These gutters have fewer seams than traditional gutters. Seamless gutters are the most popular type and can be created out of different types of materials that are strong and may last for decades.

Wood Gutters

Wood Gutters are rarely used. However, these types of gutters are commonly used on restorations and custom buildings. These gutters happen to be more expensive than other seamless gutters. The price depends on the type of wood used. The most commonly used woods are clear fir, cedar and redwood.

 Aluminum Gutters

These types of gutters are the commonly used for their ability to hold more water. However, if the aluminum is not thick enough the weight of the water can cause bending. Aluminum gutters have a lifespan of 20 years and can be used in different climates.

Vinyl and Plastic

Gutters made of these materials are common. These are used for do-it-yourself projects because of their inexpensiveness and easy installation. However, these may not hold up well during extreme weather. Although these gutters do not rust and last for many years, vinyl and plastic gutters may leak if installed improperly.

Half Round Seamless Gutters

These gutters are known for their durability and corrosion resistance. Half round gutters add a look of elegance to the home.  Half round gutters are available in different materials such as aluminum, copper and steel. Some gutters may be dipped in zinc to strengthen them, usually galvanized steel. These may last up the 30 years.
