How to Assemble ClosetMaid Shelving

Walk-In Closet Design Ideas

Many people today have small to large walk-in closets. They are great and generally easy to get around in when well organized. There are many desings for a walk-in closet that can allow you more storage space or an extended style of the bedroom.

  • Get some baskets for holding small items like socks or underwear. They look good in open areas and it is easy to access them and put them away. Even your PJ’s and nighties can rolled up and stored in baskets.

  • Install wall mounted coat hooks that can hold your robes and clothing worn frequently.

  • Place a chest of drawers in the closet to store clothing that is used a lot such as shoes and folded t-shirts.

  • Maintain a container of static remover in the closet. You will not have to find it when you need it for spraying your clothing.

  • Place a can of stain remover or some of the pre-moisturized towelettes to treat stains prior to putting into the dirty clothes hamper.

  • Place a valet rod in the closet. It can be used for freshly ironed clothing needing cooling off prior to wearing, hanging up tomorrow’s clothing, wet clothes in need of drying, and clothing you may be sewing buttons on or making temporary repairs.

  • Install hooks for your lint brushes, shoehorns and other items so they will always be instantly available. If your shelving is wire, use “S” hooks for this instead.

  • Keep a sewing kit handy for the buttons and temporary repairs we spoke of earlier.

  • Keep a space open just for empty hangars. That way you don’t have to hunt for them and they will not be in your way when you are looking for clothes to wear.
