Water Extraction Methods

Water in the home is a disaster waiting to happen. It can be caused by flooding from a storm, or from leaking pipes. However, when water does invade a home, it can destroy property and create a potentially dangerous environment, allowing for the development of mold spores.

When water invades the home, the most important thing is to remove the water as soon as possible. There are different ways to remove the water in the home in a timely manner.

  • Pumps are used to draw water out of the area by pumping the water out of areas in the home (such as the basement) where it accumulates. Pumps are designed to pump water, and they are connecting to pipes to help move the water from the accumulated area to the exterior of the home.

  • The spinners use centrifugal force to spin moisture out of clothing and other property that has been inundated with water. The spins are created in different ways and use the same principle that dryers use in getting close dry. Spinning them around will extract the water from the affected substances so that they can properly dry out.

  • Vacuums literally suck up the accumulated water and contain it so that it can be removed from the home. Vacuums are especially effective in removing water from carpets and furniture. It can be labor intensive and time consuming.

  • Dehumidifiers are designed to reduce moisture in the air. These are especially effective in preventing the development of airborne bacteria because they remove moisture from the air effectively.
