Ways to Raise Money for the Humane Society

Raising money for a special cause, like the Humane Society, can allow you to help out an organization that is close to your heart. While you may donate what you can, you can get much more money for the organization by raising money from others. 

Organize a Fundraiser

Organizing a fundraiser is the best way to raise money for the Humane Society. You can decide what the event will be and how much to charge for admission. Since the Humane Society rescues animals, the natural best audience for a fundraiser is animal owners, especially those who spend a lot of time with their pets and treat them like family. 

Your event should be geared towards pets and pet owners, preferably something where pet owners can bring and interact with their pets. Post flyers about your fundraiser at pet stores, pet activity centers, indoor or outdoor dog parks and anywhere else that pet owners frequent. 

Promote Your Cause with Social Media Tools

If you don't have the resources or time to organize your own fundraiser, you can find other fundraisers that support the Human Society and use social media tools to promote those fundraisers. 

If the fundraiser has a Facebook page, you can "like" it and ask your friends to do the same. They can then ask their friends to "like" the fundraiser. You can also tweet about the fundraiser on Twitter, to help promote it. 

Give Out Information

Use every opportunity you can to tell others about what the Humane Society does and how they can donate to the program. It is important to stress to people that they don't have to donate a lot of money and that they can help just by spreading the word, if they don't have money to donate.
