What Are Military Heroes?

For centuries, countries have been caught up in wars and conflicts involving military men and women. A military hero is a man or woman who goes beyond their call of duty to protect, serve and sometimes give their life for their country. These military heroes never demand anything in return.

What Are Military Heroes?

A military hero is someone that has sacrificed their normal everyday life by joining the service. They give their lives to serve and protect their country by all means. It takes a special person to be a military hero. A person that enters the military and knows what could be at risk, but love for their country, family and freedom, is their most valuable possessions and they will give it all, to protect what they hold dear.

A military hero can be defined in many ways during war times. A soldier may be defined as a hero for saving lives of fellow soldiers. A military hero may be someone who was wounded or killed while trying to protect civilians.

There are many state parks, buildings and streets named after some of our remarkable military heroes. Like the Minute Man National Historical Park and National Heroes Park are two parks honoring military heroes. We have legal holidays marked on every calendar to honor our military heroes like Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
