What Price Range is Considered Expensive at Restaurants?
There are many types of restaurants in the United States today. Most restaurants are considered mid-range where a plate of food per person is approximately $15 to $25 a person. Anything above this is considered an expensive range to be paying for a plate of food. There are not many restaurants that have a high price range in most towns.
There are few restaurants in America that have an average price range of over $25 a plate. Most restaurants that feature high priced plates are those that serve expensive foods such as seafood and foreign cuisine, foods that take a high level of skill to make or include a lot of ingredients. All these factors can contribute to the overall price of the plate that you are eating.
The price of a plate is determined by the price of the ingredients to make the meal. Divide this overall cost by the amount of servings that you can create. This is the restaurant cost of the meal. Once you include a small charge for the overall usage of utilities to create the meal such as gas, electric and a small fee for the cost to make the meal.
There are few towns that have restaurants that have high cost meals. This is partly because most restaurant establishments want every family to be able to dine at any time, not just those that they see fit. Most often, the types of towns that have more expensive range prices are those in beach towns, places celebrities are known to travel and high traffic tourist areas such as Las Vegas and Reno.
