I took advantage of Bark Avenue's free puppy play time and at the same time my puppy played for free, I learned a lot about my dog. I was looking for a place to board our puppy while we went on vacation. I couldn't find anywhere that I truly trusted until Bark Ave. We took him to their free Puppy Playtime on Saturdays and what we found was an immaculate space with happy dogs and a friendly, knowledg...eable staff who clearly love dogs. These are people who enjoy their work and they take an interest in all the dogs in their care. The best part is that the dogs who board there are not locked up all day. They are let out to play with the daycare dogs (closely supervised). You can also have your dog trained while you're away! My family went to Disney World and I think our dog actually had more fun than we did. I called to check on him and they were delighted to share his antics with me. IF YOU WANT YOUR DOG TO GET SICK, AND GET HOSPITALIZED, GO TO BARK AVENUE!!!!! We boarded our very healthy, happy energetic lab for 4 days and the day she got home, she started incessant coughing, lost all appetite, her eyes filled with mucus, and developed a fever of 1...03.9. A week later, she had to be hospitalized with bacterial pneumonia. All of the vets who tended to her told me that she could have died. When I contacted Michelle at Bark Avenue, she told me that she was within the law, and she would not help with any vet bills. $2000 and 3 weeks later, our dog is starting to get better. Our dog loves this place. They have an excellent and well trained staff (most if not all of which are dog owners themselves). The facility is huge and has everything a dog could want. This is the only place we trust to watch our dog and is also the only place we ever bo...ard him. They have grooming services that we use too. We left our dog Kaya for 10 days at Bark Avenue while we went to Mexico on vacation. Michelle made us feel very comfortable about leaving our baby there. We were given a tour of the facility and shown where Kaya would be sleeping. We called several times and everyone... took the time to give us an update. She had lots of playtime, and since we also paid for training, she worked very hard as well! The trainer, Matt Covey is just like the "dog whisperer". The facility and staff at Bark Avenue Daycamp are outstanding. My wife & I own Westgate Vetrinary Center and we feel very confident in taking our own miniature pincher mix (Finley) for daycare and training.
