Cleveland Chevrolet Drivers Know Your Rights During a Car Accident
There are many scenarios that can be painted of
you getting in an accident, but they all result in the same anxious, scared,
panicky, and confused feelings of "what just happened" and "now what do I do." Don’'t worry; our Cleveland area Chevrolet repair center is here to help you.
Steps To Take After a Car
Accident
So you were just in an accident,
and want to assess the damage. First, you are probably anxious and not thinking
as clearly, stop, take a breath, don't just jet out of your car. Look
around to make sure it is safe, put on your safety hazard lights, and then carefully get out when
you're sure it's safe. If anyone has been hurt, call 911 right away.
Avoid conversing with the
other driver or their passengers. This is a common mistake because you might
say something that can put the fault on you. Make sure you only talk to the
police or other emergency officials. After that, you should exchange information
with the other driver. Also, take pictures of the damage.
Now what? Call your insurance
provider to report the accident. They will give you the necessary steps to
take. However, our Chevy collision center near Cleveland has a
few tips for this situation too.
You must know your rights with
insurance providers too. Were you aware that and insurance provider cannot
require you to go to a particular repair facility though they make it seem that
way? You can go anywhere you want, and we suggest a center like (if not) ours
because of the advanced equipment we use.
We welcome the insurance
appraisers in to our facility rather than you needing to drive or tow your car to their facility. It is safer and less costly.
There is much more you should know
about collision repairs, but this is just a way to get you started in the right
direction. For more information, call our Chevy dealership serving Cleveland
at (440) 365-7311 today.
