Keep Your New Lorain Chevrolet Driver Safe With These Five Safety Tips
Every dealership should have
your safety as a top priority. Of course the vehicles today are equipped with
amazing avoidance features, but it is our duty to make sure you are choosing
the right vehicle. Our Chevrolet
dealership serving Lorain will gladly guide you to the safest new and used
cars on our lot; however, there is more to teen driver safety than segment
leading safety features.
Five Safety Tips for Teen Drivers
Recently, the U.S. Department of
Transportation's National Highway Safety Administration released a new campaign
urging parents to promote driver safety to their children. This is known as the "5
to Drive" campaign.
The five topics you should cover
with your teen driver are:
1. No cell phone use or texting while driving,
2. No extra passengers,
3. No speeding,
4. No alcohol, and
5. No driving or riding without a seat belt.
If you think these tips are common sense and your teen is an exception to these situations, we would like to remind you that motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers 14-18 years old. As a Chevy dealer near Lorain, we try to do our best to help our customers avoid these tragic situations, but we need your help as responsible adults.
"Safety is our highest
priority, especially when it comes to teens, who are often our least
experienced drivers," said U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx. "The '5 to Drive' campaign gives parents and teens a simple,
straightforward checklist that can help them talk about good driving skills and
most importantly, prevent a tragedy before it happens."
If you have a new driver in the
family, please teach them these simple tips. Safety should be your main
concern, so when you head to our Chevy dealership serving Lorain please feel free
to ask us about the premium safety features in our vehicles. For more
