My fiancée and I called Ryan while searching the Triangle area for dog trainers/behaviorists for our newly adopted French Bulldog rescue. When I contacted Ryan of Born to Lead K-9 Academy of Raleigh, I was on the verge of having my dog, Tess, put down for aggressive behavior towards the other dogs in my home, including my 15 year old dog who is virtually deaf and blind. Ryan gave me a good deal of time ov...er the phone to educate me about the situation prior to ever being paid to train me to work with my dogs, without ever asking to be paid for the consultation time. Then I hired him to come to my home and work with us to bring our pack into order. After his first visit, using only a few suggestions surrounding food, furniture, toys and affection, our dogs are now a peaceful pack. My husband Mike and I met Ryan when we got our sweet golden retriever puppy in February this year. Oh my gosh, he is the best! I cannot say enough about his common sense approach to helping us be able to understand the way our puppy thinks and what she needs from us to... understand what we want from her. Lead trainer Ryan Douglas has literally changed my life for the better. My partner and I have two dogs. Both with a plethora of issues. Most notably aggression towards dogs and people. The other big ticket item was not being able to walk them without serious leash pulli...ng. Ryan was able to have our 80 lb rottweiler mix walking on a leash in about 5 minutes. In his two hour session I learned about 100 times more than I did at Petsmart's Beginning, intermediate, and advanced training which we did prior to using Born to Lead K-9. I have been able to use all of the tools Ryan gave me to have healthy, happy and balanced pets. The aggression is almost at zero percent! The biggest difference between Ryan and other people we tried is his understanding of dog psychology and behavior in addition to conditioning/ training.
