Budiroes, a locals’ hangout located on the beautiful Isle of Palms in South Carolina, is like a mini vacation. Its tropical setting with two bars, large dance floor, extraordinary entertainment, and delicious food makes Budiroes a must stop when in the Charleston area. Owners Ronnie and Kim Johnson are always on sight creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for Charleston visitors as well as locals. Ronnie, a dynamic entertainer with a charismatic personality performs three nights a week. His musical talent and interaction with the audience guarantees a festive and memorable experience for all ages. Ronnie was Wild Dunes’ featured entertainer for 14 years. He has performed from Charleston to New York where he entertained along with Chuck Berry for People Magazine. Other stops include LA, Chicago, Atlanta, London England, and even an expedition ship cruising to Antarctica. What a rare treat to find this caliber of entertainment on one little island! His wife, Kim, will welcome you at Budiroes’ door with Southern grace and charm. She will also join Ronnie on stage from time to time with her beautiful voice and good looks. Together they strive to define Budiroes just as its name does….a Southern friend. Wednesday night is trivia night hosted by “Sweet Caroline”. This is a great night where locals and visitors of all ages come together to challenge their minds as well as each other. Contributions are taken to benefit the MUSC pediatric oncology clinic. Thursday night hosts the “Summer Dance Series” featuring some of the finest beach bands, and you never know who just might drop in to play with Ronnie on any given night! Music and fun are accompanied by wonderful food. Budiroes supports the local shrimpers by purchasing fresh shrimp right off the dock at Shem Creek. Needless to say the shrimp are outrageous. The burgers are also exceptional with hand cut fries, sweet potato fries, or homemade onion rings. Treat yourself to an evening at Budiroes with dinner, fine entertainment, and dancing. The fun-loving, inviting atmosphere is sure to highlight your vacation and keep locals coming back.
