Downhill
For many years, Clarity had good service as an ISP and hosting service. However, all their competent tech employees left, and they gradually turned into an utter disaster. Security was not maintained on hosting computers, so in 2014 they were completely hacked with 100% data loss. Best options now are LightLink, or national suppliers.
Whose hand did Chuck Bartosch grease?
Worst. Internet. Service. Ever. There is no customer service for service that barely works anyway. The Internet speed is slower than the second coming. There is no one around after hours to service their outages, even though they have a 24 hour per day product. Their ph...one message says they will call you back, but they don't. For most rural areas this is the only Internet provider, so they have a captive audience, they don't have to care about you once they get your money. CEO Chuck Bartosch got a $2.2M grant from Andy Cuomo/NYS Broadband Program to "serve" even more rural communities. Be sure to tell NYS Broadband about your service--www.nysbroadband.ny.gov--at the CUSTOMER link, click "Tell us about your Internet access." Chuck won't get his grant if customers are not being well served by his product. Let's put him out of business. We deserve good Internet service, and Clarity Connect is anything but good.

If only you could give zero stars..
Incredibly slow Internet speeds. Incredibly slow response times. I called to see how to add a device other than a laptop and phone and the person had no idea but told me to email billing because I would probably have to pay extra. Awful experience. Going back to Time Warner.
Stay Away!
To be quoted I was promised "The standard residential service is an up to 8 Mbps connection (about 6 download x 1.5 upload). Many of our subscribers use their high speed service for streaming, whether through a Smart TV, Roku, or other device if they choose." ...I have been getting nowhere near those speeds. I always average .70 download and .20 upload with 150ping. Which means I'm getting a horrible signal when I was told I would receive a great signal with good bandwidth. I called to cancel 15 hours later and they forwarded the info to billing. I was told I should hear back later in the day. I called back before the day ended and was told billing was too busy. I had to keep calling to get answers. I was told billing is too busy so and was told I'm unable to get my $200 install fee refunded. I have also reported to the BBB to get my refund. Stay away from this service!
Worst Service. False advertising
