Tradition in a Chocolate
Before heading out of Dexter, stop off at Drew’s Chocolates for a snack for the road or order candy to be shipped to your friends as a souvenir. In 1927, Helen Drew started a candy-making business from the recipes of relatives in New Hampshire. Today, Drew’s still... uses the original recipes and equipment in the same house at 426 State Street. Famous worldwide, Drew’s is the only candy shop in the country that fork dips each delicious piece of chocolate by hand on a daily basis using pure chocolate and the freshest ingredients available.

We discovered Drew's on a trek to Illinois. It may not be the healthiest breakfast, but we enjoyed a box of Drew's chocolates for a morning treat. Worth the detour off route 80. It's not too far. Raspberry cheesecake chocolate, a soft and delicious caramel, espresso cream. YUM!
Simply amazed
After dozens of Interstate trips between Des Moines and Stuart, I took the old highway 6 to Dexter and stopped at Drew's. While the shop was surprisingly understated, the warm welcome pulled me in. I received a quick education on the family history and quality of their ...process, along with a sample or two of the best dark chocolate this old chocoholic has tasted. My wife was pleased with my surprise purchase and I promised myself to return for more.

My family has been stopping at Drew's on our way home from Des Moines for many years. Their chocolates are amazing, and we always enjoy our shopping experience. My brother tells everyone about their raspberry cheesecake candies, but my favorites are their creams. I think Drew's should be the standard for quality by which all American chocolatiers are judged.

Drew's Chocolates are the best! I too have been around the world in search of the worlds greatest chocolates...My search came to a halt when I discovered Drews Chocolates! The owners wonderful, welcoming personalities make the chocolate even better! Drews Chocolates is a must have for the chocolate lover!
