Homestead Camping

Very nicely located -- 10 minutes from eLewes or Cape Henlopen beaches, 15 mins from Rehobeth Beach, 30 minutes to Bethany, Fenwick, and Ocean City. BUT, the open air side is just too open! Right in the middle of a field! Big pull-through sites, however, Need to run... AC constantly. Few activities, unless you enjoy watching guys play horseshoes! Very small pool, poorly stocked store. No cable, no WIFI or inernet, even in the office. In fact, they don't even accept credit cards. Shaded (tree) side of park has many dead or dying trees with falling branches. The trees are never pruned, and they cause algae and mold on the rvs parked on that side which makes them look old, dirty and ugly. Manager of the park is not a people person -- unfriendly, unapproachable, very arrogant and openly rude. If you visit, ask for Carol or Brad. They are the hardest working, friendliest people one could ever meet. They should be runing the place! Lots of potential, but lots of room to improve. Read More

After spending eight years in another campground and being disatisfied this has been a wonderful family experience as we have been at this site for eight years. It is very clean and safe, well maintained campground. The owners, manager, maintenance, and office staff are friendly and helpful. We love it here and would highly reccomend it.

Prettymans are great!!!!

7 times lie to me.Can't feep his story straight.1st claimed he never got paid, finally admitted getting paid, NEVER acknowledged that he kept my personal property until the sixth time-I called and TOLD him I wanted my personal property.He acknowledged.Only on the sevent...h conversation with Prettyman did he admit to having my payments.But, he was keeping $50.00 due to my daughters bad check - WHICH he was told not to deposit until a date when my daughter had the money in the bank.I deplore what my daughter did.But I despise being lied to and told SEVEN different stories about the goings on @ HOMESTEAD CAMPING. The State of Delaware, Tax assesment Dept. has been notified. I was notified by Mr.Smith/DE Tax Dept. that the all cash business at Homestead Camping will be investigated.Well, when I phoned Prettyman one night when I WAS 'HOT', I let him know, under no certain terms would he be keeping my personal items - I've got them. SorryNEGATIVE10STARS.You don't treat me that way, you don't lie to me. B.Prettyman gave me seven different LIES about this situation.My daughter was wanting my camper last year. I was courtious and asked Bill Prettyman if that would be ok and he said yes. However, not ...known to me was the fact that my daughter did not pay for the seasonal camping site. Rest assured when I found out about this, I stepped in and paid the amount due, because at the time I respected Bill Prettyman. Needless to say, Prettyman got his money from me, with the additional fee of $50.00 to hold the site for the 2009 camping season. Well! My payments were not applied to the site we had, according to Prettyman, our deposit for the 2009 season was not applied. Bill Prettyman first stated, and I quote, "We do not have the money for last year nor a deposit for 2009." Through seven seperate days (weeks) of conversation with Prettyman, he finally admitted receiving the moneys' due. BUT now states another LIE. Read More
