My Puppy Paradise

We originally thought we were "rescuing" the puppy we got from Cherie. It turns out that we did in a backwards way rescue our dog from the horrible living conditions this woman surrounds herself with. Our first tip off that this was a puppy mill was the HORRIBLE stench ...coming from the house before we set foot inside. Upon entering, there were at least 20 dogs running around inside. Somehow this house was for sale - we have no idea how a potential buyer would even step foot in this house. Our dog ended up getting pneumonia the week we brought him home. I was initially feeling guilty about getting our new puppy from a breeder, as opposed to a rescue group, but once I saw the conditions in which Cheri keeps these dogs and their puppies, I immediately felt like I was actually rescuing a puppy. Do not make the same mista...ke I did. Our dog turned out to be absolutely wonderful, but we got lucky. We were told our dog would be 5 pounds at the most. She's 10 pounds. Cheri gives the dogs up too early at 6 weeks old and freely admitted that she's trying to have tons of puppies so she could buy a nicer house for herself. Her website is no longer up.
