Phillip Galls Outdoor & Ski

I have shopped with the Galls since 1969. I have hiked for many years and always looked at their store first for any equipment I needed. The only time service seemed to slide downhill for me was right before the store was bought out. I was not sure when they reopened th...at the service or the products would be any good but they are. Nice to know P-G responds to customers concerns. Obviously things got better after January as they should. There was no bashing in my letter, just a fair review of a problem which needed to bew addressed. That is what consumer advocacy is about, to help a company imp...rove its service. I'm normally not a review writing kind of guy, but I feel the need to rebut the author of "Person(n)el Attitude." First of all, Dr. Donald, let's spell our words correctly. Second, this was just a phenomenal shopping experience. All of the personnel was very helpful to...wards not only me, but every customer I saw walk into the store while I was shopping. I was very, very impressed. In fact, they were out of one particular item I really wanted, and since I'm not from Lexington they couldn't order to their store and have me pick it up. Instead, the person who attended to me called their supplier and had them expedite shipping to where I live so I could have the product before my trip next week. So i got on here ans saw where someone else had bashed Phillip Gall's for the laid back attitude. When i got there i was in and out with my gear in no time. The people were friendly, the selection very good. I love this place and as a college student i recommend it to anyone interested in outdoor pursuits.

After 5 weeks awaiting my bindings to be mounted on my skis, I called. In all fairness, Rossignol had sent a replacement part but that was shipped on Jan. 15. The guy I spoke with struck me as unimpressive as the other personnel I've dealt with since re-opening. Slac...k, lackadaisical, way-too-cool, way too "layed back." They're dealing with the general public, not hip-hoppers on the slopes for crying out loud. The manager actually defended the conduct.
