River CIty Grill is fabulous! My lunch group enjoyed a leisurely lunch and it was without a doubt one of the best times we've ever had. Everything was just perfect! We enjoyed the Garlic Shrimp Alfredo over angel hair (the best I"ve ever had anywhere), the "Downtowner S...andwich" (rave reviews), the Fried & Grilled Grouper(both divine), the Chicken salad sandwich, and an unbelievable burger. Don't miss the "HOMEMADE" kettle chips..Yum......The sandwiches are huge and all other portions are very generous. The sides were wonderful and the chicken peasant soup we enjoyed left us begging for the recipe!!! Our server, Lisa, was a joy...so patient, knowledgable, sweet and friendly. We will definately ask for her next time.We drove an hour and it was so worth it. You walk in and think Yikes!, Let's eat somewhere else. The room you enter is tiny and it looks run down. A good analogy is 'DON'T JUDGE A TATTERED OLD BOOK BY IT'S COVER. THERE JUST MAY BE EXCELLENT READING BETWEEN THE FRONT AND BACK PAGES.' Listen to me. As you walk... past the front room and into the back room, you can look beyond the fifteen foot wide wine rack into the next room full of diners. The ambience is relaxing, the food is mouth watering delicious, and the service leaves nothing to be desired. Thank you for making the afternoon for we ladies,( my mom, my sister and myself), a pleasant, stressless dining occassion. If you enjoy good food, laid back atmosphere for your enjoyment not the servers, who I may add work very hard to accomplish this for you, a solid wine list, and your tea glass is always filled, then go on in and get you some.
