Scott is a liar and a thief
My car had an oil leak (5 quarts lost in about 2 months). I had booked an appointment to have the car looked at at Route 20 Automotive, which as it turns out, has the same address as Route 20 Tire and Wheels. When I went in to have the car serviced, I was told by Scot...t that Route 20 Automotive was a 10 minute drive, and agreed to do the work under the premise that I had booked the appointment there based on the proximity to where I work. He told me that he would need to perform an engine wash to determine the source of the leak. He told me that he performed the wash and charged me $30 for it and told him to take it back to him in a week. One week later, I again brought the car to be looked at and he told me that there was no sign of oil anywhere on the engine. At this point I had lost almost a quart of oil. The following day, I took the car to a reputable mechanic that my family has been using for over 20 years to get a second opinion. He informed me that the entire engine was covered in oil and dirt, to the extent that they would need to perform an engine wash to detect the source of the leak. At this point it became clear to me that an engine wash was not performed at all, even though I was charged $30 for it. The following week I returned to Scott to give him another chance to follow up for the services he had supposedly performed. Instead, he lied again, telling me that there was no oil on the engine. After taking the car back to my mechanic and confirming once more that the engine had not been washed, I called Scott and confronted him about the matter, explaining that what he had told me did not hold water. I requested that he refund the $30 that he had stolen from me, and he refused. I will be following up in small claims court. I don't recommend this guy to anyone who isn't in the market to get screwed over.
Horrible quality work!
Horrible quality work!!! Their tech broke a metal band on my rim that holds the tire pressure sensor. Instead of informing me, they reattached it with electrical tape. Needless to say, the sensor became unraveled, and threw off the tires balance. Replacing a metal band... with electrical tape? Ridiculous! I recommend anyone that thinks of going there, go somewhere else.
Great, unless you run into trouble.
Used to go there all the time. Good prices and even fixed a leaky tire for me for free. BUT, when I ran into trouble with a set of tires for my SUV, he wouldn't help me. Told me that it was my fault since I ordered the tires and wouldn't work with the manufacturer fo...r credit on the defective tires. I ended up going to TownFair to get Yokohama to credit me for the defective tires. So, don't waste your time with this place. Sure, a friendly face if he's taking your cash and you don't have problems, but when you run into problems expect a rude and nasty response.
