I would give VPT "0" stars, but that was not an option. I found Vantage Pointe on-line and Gerard showed up as requested. He was nice enough and easy to work with. I paid him the $148 he charged and my wife and I gave him a bag of tomatoes from our garden b/c he seeme...d like a good guy. That evening I turned on my computer and had the exact problems I was having that prompted me to call him. He picked up and tried to troubleshoot the problem, but seemed to be flailing and having me do things that the computer was warning me against. Long story short, he couldn't fix it over the phone. We made an appointment for him to come back, which he didn't honor. I kept calling him to make appointments and he kept coming up with excuses and not showing up for appointments I made for him, inconveniencing my schedule. Ironically, I noticed that despite the fact that he had a lot of trouble getting back to my house to trouble shoot the computer, he had NO trouble getting to the bank to deposit my check, which he did the day after I wrote it to him. I ultimately took my computer to Best Buy where they removed a virus. Bottom line: this guy, Gerard, does not strike me as competent, and he is not an honorable businessman. He took my money for services not rendered, and was evasive in returning to reattempt the repair or return my money. I hope you don't have to learn this first-hand.
