I have to disagree 100% with the review regarding the office only being interested in making money. \t\nWhen my kitten was seriously ill I had multiple options presented and a multitude or prices thrown at me, and then the personal recommendation from the vet (Dr. Loug...hlin I believe) as to what he would do for his pet, which happened to be the cheapest and quickest (and completely successful) option.\t\nI never once felt that the price of the options weighed into his recommendation. \t\nHe was sympathic, knowledgable and compassionate about my cat's health. After needing to replace our vet after he passed away. We took our dog to Allen's Our dog was 6 yrs old at the time. He is prone to hot spots and digs himself up every summer. We've tried everything to control and realized ourselves that what worked was keeping him a...s cool as possible and treat the wounds. After being told it was fleas. He's NEVER had fleas. When we took him to Allen's we discussed this with the vet. He knew exactly what we wre talking about. And told us the next time give him Tavist and explained everything to us. That's when we knew this was the vet for us. Since then he has had to have more teeth removed due to a severe gum infection. He's really prone to these and never exhibits any sign of a problem till it is really severe. They got him right in and he is doing well. I highly recommend this vet if it is in your area. Read More

Being a first time dog owner, I brought my puppy to Dr. Allen due to many recommendations about his service and attitude towards puppies. He not only met, but exceeded all my expectations, taking over half an hour to talk to me about housetraining, my specific breeds n...eeds and possible complications, how to catch those complications before they became worse and how to give my puppy an overall healthy, happy life. Consequent visits have been just as pleasurable, with a great staff who loves animals always there to help. \t\n\t\nI have owned cats in the past and have taken them to other vets - I will never go to another vet other than Dr. Allen again, I can't say enough about his service and attitude - he's wonderful! Do not be surprised if the head veterinarian strikes you more as a businessman than as a doctor. If my experience is any indication, he will not be reluctant to leverage your love for your pet to line his pocket.\t\n\t\nThough he said my pet would need a particular med...ication for the rest of her life, he would not provide a refillable prescription until after another test. Then he refused to honor the price he had quoted me for that test, instead raising the price some 40%. Research on the Internet reveals that this is approximately 4 times the going price for that test in other facilities in the area. To renew the needed prescription, he further expected me to submit to this price-gouging on a yearly basis.\t\n\t\nIf you are looking for a vet that is more interested in the health of your pet than his bank acount, I would advise you look elsewhere.
