An inexperienced tow operator can damage a vehicle with either a flatbed carrier or wheellift wrecker. The best bet to decrease/ eliminate the chance of damage is to hire a certified tow operator. A basic level of certification from either the Towing & Recovery Association of America (TRAA) or North American Towing Academy (NATA) are both appropriate for towing cars and light trucks.

Towing does damage the vehicle if as you tow you haven't hooked up towing accessories right. it could also happen if you are a reckless driver. the best way to prevent this is to make sure you replace worn out or damaged parts. also make sure you have hitched up correctly and that you only tow the recommended weights.

no, as long as care is taken when hooking ,towing , and positioning of equipment . All wheel drive must need flatbed or dollies. 2wd usually do not need a flatbed or dollies unless vehicle is to low or mechanical problems prevent vehicle from rolling on good roads.

No, repeated towing doesn't damage a vehicle IF IT IS DONE RIGHT! Think of it like this...you drive your vehicle and all 4 tires are on the ground and rolling. A tow truck basically lifts the drive wheels off the ground and the other 2 are still rolling. Where the damage can come in is in how it is loaded.
