Should I have to pay towing fees of about $500 after my car was on hold 4 about 2 months?
I was unable to reach either officers after calling & leaving messages numerous times, nor was I contacted for almost 2 months. Is there anything I can do?

I would suggest research your local laws. We are in WV and there are laws for each state, but here Tow companies are required by law to notify the owner of the vehicle within 5 days. The towing CO also has to keep on file proof that they did (certified receipt or like) Also most states have a price cap. Research the laws and then go to the company ask for written proof (if your state requires that), also ask to see the vehicle and ensure nothing has been removed or touched. Also i would call the police with your tag number and get all the info you can from them because it has to be released by them if they were involved in it. Also once it is released you are permitted to get your stuff out

Once your car is impounded and towed to the impound yard the tow company has to get the owner and the lien holder's info w/ in 72 hrs. Then the tow company has to notify you by certified ltr that they have the car and what it will cost you to get it out. The storage fees are based on 7 days prior to you recieving the cert and then everyday after. This is to keep an impound yard from billing you storage fees for months w/out you knowing who has the car and how much you have to pay.

You need to pay the towing company and pick up your car so that storage charges will stop being accrued. Then talk to whoever had your vehicle impounded and determine why the long hold and if there is any possibility for a reimbursement by whomever did the impounding. The reimbursement will not come from the towing company; they did what they were told to do and deserve to be paid for their work.
Usually with law enforcement officers, if you are not getting a response, you need to talk to someone and ask how to proceed. Call a superior officer, but do not get up on it and just leave messages.Answered by Parks Highway Service & Towing Po Box 127, Nenana, AK, 99760, 800-478-8697 (Novice with 1 pts.)

you should pay and get the car released so no more fees accumulate, then explore if they acted legally. If not you can sign a complaint or take them to small claims courtAnswered by Garwood Coin Inc and Jewelry Exchange 401 North Ave, Garwood, NJ, 07027, 908-789-0469 (Genius with 6033 pts.)
