Top 3 Things to Consider Before Joining an Auto Club

AARP VS Other Auto Club

AARP was founded in 1958 and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. It was also known by the American Association of Retired Persons and is a not-for-profit organization that provides services for people over the age of 50. AARP offers longer Medicare plans, roadside assistance and life and vehicle insurance.

People are questioning what the big difference is between AARP versus other auto clubs. There are several differences in these clubs.

AARP roadside assistance

Among other things AARP offers roadside assistance. To obtain a roadside assistance membership with AARP you must be an AARP member, and being a AARP member requires that you be at least 50 years old. If you or someone you love is an AARP member, you qualify to join the AARP roadside assistance program. If you not already an AARP member, you can join as long as you’re at least 50 years old. An AARP roadside member can include other family members that are not members of AARP. The roadside assistance program pretty much works like any other program. AARP has premier, standard, premiere road and tow and road and tow plan. They also have recreational vehicle roadside service. They offer towing depending, battery jumps, lockout service and car rental discounts just to name a few. To become an AARP member you must be a resident of the United States, Puerto Rico or Canada.

Other auto clubs

The other auto clubs like AAA and Better World Club do not require you to be 50 years old and does not require you to already be a member. They also provide memberships for people outside of the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada unlike AARP.
