About Air to Satellite

There aren’t many satellite TV providers in the United States to begin with and there are even fewer of them that provide the signals for free. Many are asking what does air to satellite provide in the way of programs and how can they get one.

What is FTA?

You are aware of Direct TV and Dish TV but have you heard of free to air satellite TV? Yes, it is actually free and there are no monthly fees. What it is are the unencrypted signals being broadcast by local TV stations in your area. These signals can be received by 30-inch satellite dishes that you can purchase almost anywhere you can purchase TV equipment.

Is it actually free?

The answer is yes, after buying the dish and the equipment to receive with it is free. You will not being paying any monthly bill and you will be receiving TV programs on your dish. Once you have your equipment set up you will receive TV programs that are sometimes broadcast from all over the world. However most of them will not be in English and you may not understand them.

What won’t I get?

With FTA you will not get the channels that are broadcast via the satellites owned by the Dish Network or the Direct TV Network. They are the pay satellite providers and they own the rights to those channels that they charge their customers for in return. There is not a large choice with FTA, but it is essentially free.
