About Bikini Wax Hair Removal
Whether you are a man or a woman, you know how unsightly unwanted body hair can be, especially in your bikini region. Before you go to the beach, you might consider undergoing bikini hair removal. But, you should know exactly what it entails before you purchase the necessary items or schedule an appointment.
General Information
Waxing follows the same procedure whether you do it yourself for a store bought kit or go to a salon. Most kits come with a warm, soft wax and likewise, most salons offer the same. The warm wax needs to be rubbed onto the area with the hair, in the direction it is growing. For bikini waxes, it is the hair on the upper thigh and the pubic region. You or the professional will place a strip over top of the area and allow it to cool and adhere to the hair. Once cool, you or the professional remove the strip in the opposing manner the hair is growing using a quick motion, removing the hair completely from the follicle.
A hard, cold wax solution may be used as well, which does require the use of a strip, because it either comes with a pre-attached strip or it hardens enough that you do need one. You or the professional must remove the cold wax in the same way you do the warm wax.
Benefits
Waxing eliminates hair around the bikini line for at least two weeks, and in some cases, it lasts up to six weeks, which is considerably longer than shaving. Repeated waxing sometimes leads to permanent hair loss or the hair thinning and/or lightening. You do not need to worry about the unwanted side effect of shaving, razor rash.
Downfalls
The process takes about an hour to complete, so it can be time consuming, especially if you choose to have more than a bikini wax done. You must seek a certified professional or you could end up with infection. Your hair also must be so long for waxing to work effectively, not to mention you can only try to wax an area once. Therefore, if you do not get all the hair the first time, there are unwanted hairs left behind.
