About Christian Book Publishers

You have been saved and in love with Jesus Christ for at least five years. You love talking about Him, reading about Him, learning about Him, singing about Him and thinking about Him. You have decided to devote your life to Him, His cause and to the spreading of His gospel and teachings. You love writing and you want to control how your Lord and Savior is represented.

Many people believe that the only books that Christian book publishers publish are bibles. Although they are the absolute experts on publishing bibles, the bible isn't the only book that a Christian book publisher puts out.

Christian book publishers can print materials based on the teachings of Christ in any form. Publishing can include magazines, books -- both fiction and non-fiction, study guides, educational materials for Christian schools and home schooling and any other type of written material that is Christ centered and focused on Christian inspiration.

Some Christian book publishers focus on creating and publishing company-produced materials. Many Christian book publishers focus on helping Christian authors self-publish material. Two excellent examples of organizations assisting Christian authors with self-publishing are the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association and the Christian Small Publishers Association. There are sometimes fees required to become members of these organizations.

The main reason why a person chooses to publish with a Christian book publisher is a sense of like-mindedness. A Christian author writing about the Savior she loves can at least expect a sense of kindred spirit, knowing that there won't be any prejudicial treatment toward her material because of differing religious views. Many Christian book publishers see themselves as an extension of a ministry, a higher calling in Jesus Christ. There is even a mission statement to further prove the company's loyalty and trust to Jesus Christ.
