About Men's Suits

When men go about purchasing a new suit most of them haven’t a clue in what they are looking for. There are a few simple things to keep in mind and if you do you will be more pleased with your suit and the way it makes you look and feel.

Sizing

Many men do not realize that if you are a tall, thin or lanky person you should purchase a suit that has a double breast, as it creates an illusion of width. Or if looking for another style they can try a suit with single breast and three to four buttons as it makes taller men look better.

Basic Fashion Suits

For all men the tuxedo suit is the most popular but is normally worn only in special occasions. The basic suit that consists of a jacket, matching shirt and pants is worn for special events, work, office meeting and semi formal occasions.

Buttons

There are one, two, three and four button suits. Four buttons are not a popular style in today’s market but the one, two and three are very much so. For shorter men the one-button is recommended. With one buttons the lengthened lapels will project height and help them to appear taller than they actually are. The two-button has a more conservative and formal appearance than the one-button. For heavier men it also lengthens their height appearance and the top button can force the jacket open at the bottom. Last the three-button style is the latest fashion intended mostly for the younger set. Between the buttons and the lapels is it both fashionable and versatile and with the top buttons gives an appearance of tallness. Keep in mind that one rule is that although you can unbutton all the buttons but never ever button just the lower button.

How about suit vests, pleats in the trousers and vents in the jacket backs?

First of all suit vests are only for those who like to wear them and in special situations. Your pleats in your trousers are a sign of style and will always flatter your looks no matter what you size or age. Vents in your jacket are a sure sign of European styling and will give a shapelier look to the wearer.
