How to Access Mini-Storage Facilities

About Mini Storage Facilities

Mini storage facilities or self storage places can be seen in almost every town or city. These businesses are especially handy when moving with an excess of what a dwelling or building will hold. Self storage facilities will enter into an agreement or contract with the tenant for the purpose of storing items in a warehouse type building for a monthly fee.

This type of storage facility normally has some sort of security. Surveillance cameras or an armed security guard can be found at the facilities. There are also mini storage places that have gated units. A code, which the customer is given upon completion of a contract or agreement, can be entered into a keypad that is placed on the inside and outside of the gate. A mini storage facility has padlocks and combination locks for sale in the office; buying one elsewhere is okay as well. This will add to the security of the storage unit.

The price of the facilities can vary greatly. All of the prices depend on what the customer wants. Climate control, pest control or square footage will make the price go up or down depending on if the customer or clients chooses to include these items in the agreement or contract.  Storage facilities that are surrounded by other businesses on a busy street might cost more than a storage facility that is a bit out the way. The price varies from town to town as well.

If a tenant does not pay the agreed upon monthly fee, a lien will be placed on the storage space. There will be a notice of a lien from the facility to the tenant and after a certain amount of time an auction of the tenants belonging will be held to pay for the fees of the space. Be wary of mini storage facilities that seem run down, not taken care of, or just not on the level. When renting a storage space do some research before making a decision about with which one to store household goods, valuables or excess anything.
