How to Get a Loan for a Mini Storage Facility

How to Access Mini-Storage Facilities

If you have limited space and need a safe place to store items, mini-storage can be a great alternative to having to throw your stuff out. It is easy to access and retrieve items you have placed in mini-storage.

  1. Check the hours of the mini-storage facility your items are located in. Certain facilities are open 24/7 and others are only open during regular business hours. You can do this by going online or calling the facility.

  2. Bring a backpack if you plan to retrieve just a couple of smaller items. If you need to retrieve larger items be sure to bring a large sized vehicle or rent a U-Haul.

  3. Drive, walk or take public transportation to the location of your mini-storage unit. Hopefully, you chose a storage unit within close proximity to your home. This makes accessing it more convenient.

  4. Use the card, key or pin code you were given to open the gate to the mini-storage facility. Most mini-storage units are fully fenced for extra security.

  5. Locate your mini-storage unit. Make sure you know the number or letter of the unit that your stuff is in. If you have forgotten, you might be able to ask the manager on duty to help you.

  6. Use your key to remove the padlock you placed on the unit when you first put your items in mini-storage.

  7. Retrieve the items you need. Place them in the backpack you brought, or carefully load larger items into a vehicle.

  8. Ensure your mini-storage unit is secure before leaving the premises.
