How to Build Prom Tuxedos

About Prom Tuxedos

At prom time, parents have the difficult decision to choose a prom tuxedo for their teenage. They want to find that perfect tux so the young man can look good and feel good. Additionally, they have to consider whether they should rent or buy the tux and make sure the style and material is appropriate.

Buying or Renting a Tuxedo

Most parents choose to rent a tuxedo instead of buying a tuxedo. Since, it is often less expensive than purchasing one. A decent tuxedo depending on the quality, style and accessories can cost anywhere from $50 to over $100. This amount not only includes the tuxedo, but it includes the shoes as well. Even so, there are advantages to buying a tuxedo such as it allows you to buy a custom-made tux that will fit better and probably look better. If the student will wear the tuxedo more than one time, purchasing one may make more sense as well. With a rental tux, you may not get the best material, and it will not fit as well as a custom made one. However, renting is the best option if this is only for one use.

Accessories

A tuxedo is not the only purchase that you will need when you shop for a tuxedo. Cummerbunds and bow ties are necessary items that you should factor in your budget as well. Depending on the material and style purchase you can spend anywhere from $15 to over $30 for these accessory items. Choose black or navy cummerbund and bow tie to accessorize your tuxedo. Some people choose to use neckties instead of a bow tie. However, choose your accessorize based on what provides the most comfort.

Matching Tuxedo to Prom Date

Matching your tuxedo to your prom date attire is a personal decision but if this is something you want to do, consider taking your date with you when you rent or buy your tux. Your date can provide input as to what will match with her outfit and provide in-site into the best accessories that will complement her outfit as well as yours.
