Creative Advertising Concepts

Creative advertising concepts are the advertising messages that people remember most. A catchy tune, a heartfelt message, an action-packed image or a funny skit is often all it takes to capture people's attention and encourage them to further investigate a product or service.

The power of creative advertising concepts is in the ability to attract the attention of the masses. Sometimes simplicity is best and at other times a large production is necessary to make a point. An advertising concept can be considered creative if it hasn't been done before and appeals to the thoughts, feelings and/or senses.

Coming up with an effective advertising concept requires connecting with people through understanding how the product will serve them in their individual lives. If a woman wears perfume, is it to attract the attention of a man? Is it to help her to feel good about herself? Does the perfume just put her in a good mood, allowing her to enjoy her day?

Once it's clear what type of value the product will bring to a consumer, creating an advertising concept means paying attention to commonalities among people, both subtle and obvious. If the goal of wearing perfume is to attract love and end up in a happy relationship, what are the various images that convey the happiness of a couple? A brainstorm of the various images could lead to that one image that the masses can both relate to and find awe-inspiring.

Creative advertising concepts can also put a new twist on an image that has been seen before. A man down on one knee proposing to a woman is a common and visceral image. When does the man do this? Who is around? What does he say? These are all opportunities for creating an advertising message that touches the heart and inspires people to probe further and buy a product.
