Creative Smart Car Advertising

If selling cars is your business, then you know that advertising is the best way to get sales.  Everyone knows the typical ways to advertise great cars like billboards, newspapers and television commercials.  These ideas work, but when you are trying to sell the Smart Car, you can be very creative about the way you advertise.

• Donate a car or a week’s rental with the Smart Car to driver’s education facilities.  These are the newest drivers to explore the world of car sales.  Introduce them by allowing them to sit in it, drive it or just admire it in the front of driver's ed class.


• Have a smart car painted on a truck or other vehicle with the words, “You could be driving smarter and saving more money.”  It will make people think about what they are currently driving.  If they are driving a gas guzzler, they may think twice.


• Put a car on top of a building.  This will require a crane and permission from the owners, but it will attract attention.  Choose a brightly colored smart car to get more attention, and obviously the building should not be so tall that the car cannot be seen.


• Display a Smart Car in any location possible.  If there is a fair in town, be there with a car for everyone to see.  If your city has any kind of celebration, you should give residents the opportunity to see the Smart Car up close and personal.  Potential buyers may not visit your dealership, but once they see the car and sit in it, a sale may be made.


• Place signs of a smart car at local gas stations that read, “Wanna Save on that Gas Bill?  Think Smart.”  You will need to get the gas station’s permission for posting these signs.


• Create an eye attracting billboard by putting an actual smart car on the billboard.  You may be able to get the base of a smart car without the interior or engine.  This would make it easier to put up high on a billboard.


• Have a candy or soda machine built around a smart car with buttons that read, “Save Money,” “Think Smart” and “Smart Choice.”  A potential buyer would see that buying this smart car is as easy as getting a snack from a vending machine.
