Engagement Photography Ideas

Most happy couples can't wait to share the news of their engagement with their friends and family members. What better way than with a photo of the couple? An engagement photo can also be used for newspaper announcements, save the dates, or just for the couple to keep for the memory for years to come.

  • Take your engagement pictures at a location that has special meaning to you. This could be a place where you met, where the proposal was made or merely just a spot where the two of you enjoy spending time with one another.

  • Visit your local park, arboretum or botanical garden for a beautiful backdrop of greenery. Likewise, you could always go to a natural outdoor location like the mountains, the lake or a field of wildflowers.

  • The beach is a popular location to have engagement photos taken. With the ocean behind you and the soft sand between your toes, it truly intensifies the romance.

  • Stay inside and have your engagement photos taken in the home the two of you plan on sharing together.

  • Take a trip to the city or a bustling metropolitan place with lots of other people. This could be symbolic for how the two of you chose each other out of all the people in the world.

  • Go high-tech and modify the background of your engagement picture with whatever you desire. You could simply choose a patterned background or add a famous landmark such as the Great Wall of China or the Eiffel Tower if you can’t make it over to the other side of the world.

Most engagement photos feature the couple holding hands, kissing, laughing or showing affection toward one another. Get creative in your poses! You don’t have to just be sitting there. Consider celebrating your joy by jumping in the air together or skipping down the sidewalk.
