A. You can find inspiration anywhere. You may enjoy what your neighbors have done and take inspiration from their lawn. You may find want to search the Internet for ideas. Your local lawn and garden store will have books and magazines devoted to design projects, some with step-by-step processes to follow.

Q. What supplies will I need?

A. Your supplies depend on the project you choose. You may only need a few plants, a shovel and a strong back. On the other hand you may need a crew of workers, yards of sod, trees, bushes and heavy equipment. It all depends on how ambitious you are.

Q. Where should I go for supplies?

A. Lawn and garden stores are going to have everything you need. A local nursery is another great place to find supplies along with passionate advice.

Q. How much work will be required?

A. Again, that depends on your ambition; you may be done in 24 hours, or you might be in for a month of work, or more.

Q. Who can I go to for help?

A. Friends and family, specifically those living in the space you're improving. If they're going to benefit the beautifully landscaped yard, they might as well help out. You might also ask the people at your local nursery or lawn and garden center, as they usually have workers that you can hire.
