Garden Decoration Ideas

Sitting in a garden that is teeming with life and peppered with beautiful decorations can be a relaxing way to spend a morning or afternoon. Personal taste can lend a helping hand when decorations are being tossed out as ideas for a garden. From large to small the decorations can be fun, creative, and fantastic.

One of the first items to make a garden more comfortable would be the furniture. The style and look of garden furniture that says to a guest please come sit on me will have others flocking to a garden party or afternoon tea. The furniture does not have to be outlandish and should be kept very sensible, but never boring. The middle ground does depend on a lot on the personal style or taste of the owner. If a garden is quite large statues can be considered for a great decoration. A statue of the girl pouring water or a recreation of the Venus De Milo can accent a large garden with an air of posh mystery. Too many statues can crowd even a large garden; it is best to keep the amount down to one or two unless the garden is more than half an acre or so.

Planters and trellises can add a romantic aspect to any garden. A trellis that will be climbing with roses or morning glories can add that slight air of romance to any size garden. Bicycle or wheelbarrow planters are pretty and will be talked about. Planters hung from trellises or out on a shepherd's crook can be a lovely sight when peering out into a garden. Pedestal planters can bring an Italian or old world flair to a garden depending on the design on the planter. A fountain can spruce up any garden; watch out for getting one too big or too small for the size of the garden. Some fountains can be found in different sizes. Small, more sensible, replicas of famous fountains such as the Fontana Delle Api or Fountain of Bees might be a good addition to a garden. There is also a Corinthian Wall Fountain that can be added to a garden for a spectacular view.

Keep the mix of inanimate decorations and living decorations in the garden on an even keel. Conversation pieces can only liven up a garden. Thumb through a catalog or hop online to do some research for just the right pieces for a garden. Overdoing it with decorations, even in a garden, can come to have a cluttered or messy look; this is not something most people want out of a garden. Tread carefully and live for the beauty that will come when everything is finished.
